Hola, my name is Susana MacDonald, but most people call me Susi. I live in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and have done so for the last 12+ years. I am originally from Colombia but relocated to the United States when I was a teenager.

 

I work as a Real Estate Sales Advisor, and I am certified by the State of Quintana Roo (SEDETUS) where I reside. I also have my license to sell properties all over Mexico. I came to this beautiful part of the world on vacation almost two decades ago and fell in love immediately.

 

Visiting the area year after year I saw the tremendous potential for growth so when the opportunity to invest presented itself, I decided to take it.

It was scary because the process was different than I was accustomed but I made sure to use a Real Estate Professional and an Attorney to make sure everything was in order and the investment was protected.

 

Even though I had taken all the necessary precautions I was still nervous because of the difference in the practices between both countries. The transaction went through with no problems, and everything worked out.

 

I was looking for a change so when the opportunity to work in Mexico came knocking, I decided to give it a shot. The road was a lot tougher than I originally thought.

 

I learned a lot and became familiar with the nuances of the business and the importance of understanding the laws and knowing the developers.

 

The idea for susimacdonald.com came from the experience I had as a buyer. I was explained the process, but I really wish someone would’ve been by my side more consistently. I have never forgotten that feeling and is what I strive to offer all my clients.
